The 2025 British Soap Awards has announced its winners at a ceremony held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 8 PM BST.
The ceremony, which took place at the Hackney Empire in London and was hosted by Jane McDonald, is an annual event celebrating the very best of UK soaps airing over 2024 and 2025.
The big winner of the night was the long-running series EastEnders, which follows a diverse set of characters living and working in the East End of London. Having recently celebrated its 40th anniversary, the series won numerous awards throughout the night, including taking home the win for Best British Soap.
Among some of EastEnders other notable wins was its award for Villain of the Year, given to actor Navin Chowdhry, who had left the series after three years in the role of the villainous Nish Panesar. Actors Rudolph Walker and Angela Wynter also won the award for Best On-Screen Partnership for their roles as Patrick and Yolande Trueman, both having first appeared on the show more than 20 years ago.
EastEnders managed to secure eight separate awards overall, outperforming other long-running British soaps, including Hollyoaks, Emmerdale, and Coronation Street.
