Gold House has announced some of the major recipients for its fourth annual Gold House Gala, which is to be held on Saturday, May 10, in Downtown Los Angeles. With over 600 guests expected to attend, the Gold House Gala seeks to celebrate the 100 most impactful Asian and Pacific changemakers within the culture and entertainment industries.
Gold House is a non-profit organization based in LA, New York, San Francisco, and Singapore, which seeks to promote and elevate those of Asian and Pacific Islander descent. The Gold Gala celebrates all those within the arts who have made this year’s 2025 A100 List of top Asian and Pacific artists and industry leaders. While the full list will not be released until May 1, some of the biggest names set for special honors have been confirmed.
Among the recipients is the film director Jon M. Chu, one of the co-founders of Gold House, as well as its #GoldOpen project, which has sought to promote and celebrate films from Asian and Pacific filmmakers, including driving media campaigns for films like Parasite, Crazy Rich Asians, and The Farewell. Chu is to be honored for his historic accomplishments as director of the recent global phenomenon Wicked and celebrates its upcoming sequel, Wicked: For Good.
Also amongst the recipients is the actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who will receive the inaugural Global Vanguard Honor for helping to bridge Asian Pacific and Western cultures, in recognition of her 25 years spent working across both Hindi cinema and Hollywood.
The rapper and songwriter Megan Thee Stallion is also to receive the One House Honor for her support of her Asian & Pacific culture and creatives throughout her music and fashion collaborations, her projects in film and television, her support for anime, and other work.
Gold Legend Honor recipients will include the renowned Taiwanese director Ang Lee, Pokemon CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara, and the author Min Jin Lee. Lee will also be accepting the Gold Generation Award, alongside actress Zhang Ziyi, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the martial arts hit, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The Gold Ensemble Honor will also go to Moana 2’s lead actress, Auli’i Cravalho, alongside it’s directors Dana Ledoux Miller and Dave Derrick Jr., in recognition for the film’s representation of Pacific Islanders’ stories.
Also receiving special honors is the rapper Anderson .Paak, Perplexity AI CEO Aravind Srinivas, athletes Suni Lee, Chuck Aoki & Lee Kiefer, and the Icelandic-Chinese singer Laufey, who will be performing her new single, Silver Lining, at the event.
Guests will also be treated to a dinner presented by OpenTable, which celebrates Filipino cuisine, with a menu from Gold Gala executive chef Lord Maynard Llera. The Gala will be based around the theme of ‘First Light’, with Gold House CEO Bing Chen describing it as “a platform for launching the next wave of culture. We’re honoring those we have been the first not just for themselves, but for everyone who’s lit after.”
